Recent and upcoming HELIPORT presentations

by David Pape on April 22, 2024

Since our last news post in September, we have been invited to speak about HELIPORT in a variety of contexts. Our colleague Tobias Huste was so kind to present HELIPORT at Helmholtz Open Science Forum: Research Software in Leipzig this early February. In mid February, Oliver Knodel presented HELIPORT as a central, connecting part of the Digital Research Landscape at HZDR, at Helmholtz Open Science Forum "Towards Open Digital Research Ecosystems – Interconnecting Infrastructures". In March, Stefan Müller introduced HELIPORT to the particle physics community at DPG Frühjahrstagung in Karlsruhe, to show the practical aspects of documentating experiments with HELIPORT on a real example involving the gELBE facility. I went to Würzburg for deRSE24 - Conference for Research Software Engineering in Germany to present our initial ideas and gather feedback from the RSE community on the documentation of experiments involving machine learning, and how HELIPORT can help.

April has already been a busy month for us, and there are more presentations to come. The 28th HiRSE Seminar marked a first for us and the seminar series as Oliver, Stefan and I appeared as a trio to speak about "Facilitating Research Data Management with HELIPORT". At the recent HMC Fair Friday, the HMC projects HELIPORT and ALAMEDA were presented. Oliver Knodel talked about the course of the project and our goals and achievements, while our friends from GFZ showed how they used HELIPORT as the basis for their project ALAMEDA which deals with instrument and sample metadata in the research area Earth & Environment. Next friday, HELIPORT will be presented as part of a workshop on "FAIR Data Principles in Physical Sciences in NFDI".

You can find the slides to all of our presentations in the resources section of this website. We appreciate all the discussions we had over the recent months and would like to thank you for the feedback we received.

If you did not have the chance to talk with us yet, we hope to see you at one of our upcoming presentations! 🚁
